      • ABOUT TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN

        • Oceanside Unified School District offers Transitional Kindergarten (TK) at all of the elementary school sites.

          For the 2023-2024 School Year: students turning 5 between September 2, 2023 and April 2, 2024

          This program offers young learners a head start and provides them with a golden opportunity to learn and grow in an environment  tailored to meet their academic and social needs.

          • TK is taught by credentialed teachers with extra training.
          • TK uses a specialized curriculum based on California Early Childhood Frameworks and Foundations.
          • TK classrooms have a 12:1 student to adult ratio.

        • 7th & 8th grade music students from Santa Margarita, Stuart Mesa and North Terrace perform at California Adventure.

          Performance

        • The 7th and 8th grade (and a few 6th grade) band students from North Terrace, Santa Margarita, and Stuart Mesa participated in the SCSBOA band competition at El Camino High School. Students had to perform three pieces for professional music judges and received a score based on their performance. The students earned Unanimous Superior, which is the highest possible rating a group can earn. This is the first time these schools have ever received a superior in any music competition.
