WELCOME TO PRESCHOOL
If you are interested in our State Preschool Program for the 2022-2023 school year, please check back on May 16, 2022 to fill out the Scribble online interest form which can be found on the bottom of this page.
OUSD hosts four state funded preschool sites at Del Rio, Mission, North Terrace, and Santa Margarita Schools.
Preschool classrooms have an 8:1 student to teacher ratio. All schools feature an instructional practice that is culturally and linguistically tailored to meet the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of each student. Children learn best in an environment with consistent limits and when they are allowed to make choices leading toward self-direction, independence, creativity and divergent thinking.
In order to participate in the program, parents/guardians must meet income eligibility requirements as determined by the California Department of Education. Children enrolled in the program must live in the OUSD boundaries.
Submit an original and a copy of the following mandatory documents:
- Proof of income (pay stubs from both parents for the last 30 days)
- One proof of address (mortgage/ rental statement, or utility bill)
- Birth Certificate(s) for all children 18 yrs and younger in the family
