    This line is available 24-hours a day to receive messages in either English or Spanish.  Please call to notify us as soon as you are aware that your child will be absent.

    Information to leave on the message:

    • Student's name
    • Teacher's name & grade
    • Your relationship to the student
    • Reason for absence

    To prevent the spread of illness to other students and staff, please keep your children home if they have had a fever or vomited in the past 24 hours, or are visibly displaying signs of illness.  Also, remind children to wash their hands frequently.  Thank you!

    Daily attendance is essential for your child to be successful in school, and is required by law. It is important for your child to be at school and on time every day. We want to partner with you in helping your student to be successful, so please let us know how we can support you in maintaining regular attendance at Nichols!

    The following are excused absences:

    • Student illness
    • Student medical appointments

    All other reasons must be reported, but are logged as unexcused. Absences must be cleared within 5 school days. (AR 5133)

    You may clear the absence by:

    NOTE: Just telling the teacher is not enough, you must do one of the above.

     

    La asistencia diaria es esencial para que su hijo tenga éxito en la escuela y es requerida por ley. Es importante que su hijo esté en la escuela ya tiempo todos los días. Queremos asociarnos con usted para ayudar a su estudiante a tener éxito, ¡así que háganos saber cómo podemos ayudarlo a mantener una asistencia regular a Nichols!

    Los siguientes son ausencias justificadas:

    • Enfermedad del alumno
    • Citas médicas del alumno

    Otras razones se tienen que reportar, pero se cuentan como "injustificadas." Las ausencias deben ser clarificados dentro de 5 dÍas. (AR 5133)

    • Mandar un correo electrónico

    NOTE: No basta con decírselo al profesor, debes hacer una de las anteriores.
