What is PASS?
PASS (Promoting Achievement & Student Success) is a leadership and mentoring program that equips students to make positive choices in their lives and in their communities. The Chavez PASS AmeriCorps mentor serves as positive role model and is trained and placed at school sites, providing individual and group mentoring, discussions, tutoring, grades and attendance reviews, community service projects and much more!
Meet Your PASS Representative!
Hello Cougar community!
My name is Mrs.Lydia and I am extremely excited and honored to be the PASS AmeriCorps mentor for the 2020-2021 school year! I am a native Texan who moved to California upon earning my B.A. in English and teaching credential from The University of Texas at Austin. Throughout my 4 years of undergrad I worked with students ranging from ages 2 to 18, and truly believe in the power of education. I’m fortunate enough to have had influential parents and mentors who paved the way for my own educational opportunities and my goal is to help expand that for all students.
I am here to act as a mentor, resource, and positive role model for the students of Cesar Chavez Middle School and I am confident that this will be a successful school year!
