Oceanside Unified School District is pleased to announce that we will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System in all of our schools to strengthen campus safety for students and faculty.  This system will officially be used in all district buildings at the start of the new school year. The Raptor Visitor Management System will help us protect our students and staff by tracking visitors, volunteers, and contractors who come into our schools, thus providing a safer learning environment. 

Everyone entering our schools will be asked to present an ID such as a driver’s license or government issued ID, which can either be scanned or entered manually into the Raptor system. If a parent or guardian does not have a government-issued ID, the school staff member can use another form of identification and manually enter the person’s name and birthdate into the Raptor system. The network provides an alert for visitors that may jeopardize the safety of our schools. 

Once entry is approved, the Raptor system will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of the visit. A visitor’s badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off or pick up an item in the office.   

We recognize that privacy and confidentiality are important to our community and our visitors. The Raptor system only checks the visitor's name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders. The registered sex offender database is the only official database checked by the Raptor system. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded and the information is not shared with any outside agency.

El Distrito Unificado Escolar de Oceanside se complace anunciar que comenzaremos a utilizar el Sistema de Manejo de Visitantes Raptor en todas nuestras escuelas para fortalecer nuestro programa de seguridad en el campus para los estudiantes y personal escolar.  El sistema se utilizará en todos los edificios del distrito al comenzar el nuevo año escolar .  El sistema Raptor nos permitirá controlar mejor el ingreso de visitantes, contratistas, y voluntarios a nuestras escuelas, lo cual proveerá un ambiente de aprendizaje más seguro.

Al entrar a nuestras escuelas, se le pedirá a todos que presenten una identificación oficial como una licencia de conducir, que puede ser escaneada o manualmente ingresada al sistema Raptor. Si un padre o tutor, por alguna razón, no tiene una identificación emitida por el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos, el miembro del personal escolar puede usar otra forma de identificación e ingresar manualmente el nombre de la persona al sistema Raptor. El sistema Raptor proveerá una alerta para aquellos visitantes que puedan perjudicar la seguridad de nuestras escuelas.

Una vez que se apruebe el ingreso, Raptor emitirá una credencial de visitante que identifique el nombre del visitante, la fecha, y el propósito de su visita. No se requiere una credencial de visitante si recogerán o dejarán algo de la oficina escolar.

Reconozcamos que la privacidad y la confidencialidad son importantes para nuestra comunidad y visitantes.  El sistema Raptor verifica el nombre y la fecha de nacimiento del visitante en comparación con la base de datos nacional de delincuentes sexuales registrados. La base de datos de delincuentes sexuales registrados es la única base de datos oficial del sistema Raptor. Ninguna otra información diferente a la identificación se recopila o registra y la información no se comparte con cualquier agencia externa.
